Hello World!

Welcome to my space on the WWW. If you’ve visited this space before, you’ll notice that a lot has changed. Yes, a lot has changed because my life has changed. In the past, my blog has been focused on my life as a lawyer and helping people understand the impact on the law on their lives and businesses. But, I have decided to shift focus. As many of us have had to do in this time of a global pandemic, I have taken stock of my life, and put new goals in focus.

I am still a lawyer and everything else that defines me, chief of all being a mother to my Lil’ man, Rigz. My role as a mother comes before everything else. It defines how I show up in the world, and what I care about. This period when we have all had time to reflect and put things in perspective, many of us will emerge with new priorities, goals, and desires. None of us knows what the world will look like post-Covid19, but what we know for sure is that the world will not be the same as it was pre-Covid19. The way we do business will change, the way we interact with others in society will change. We are seeing glimpses of what those changes will look like.

What will preparing for college look like ten years from now when my son is getting ready for the next level of education. Cambridge University just announced that all lectures would be conducted online until the Summer of 2021. Some schools in Canada have made similar announcements. Online learning was already becoming more popular with colleges and graduate schools offering more distance learning options. But learning especially at the college level goes beyond academic growth. A lot of personal growth and development takes place in college. This is usually the first time when young adults start to make decisions on their own and start to navigate and establish lifelong professional relationships. Ten years is a long time from now, and I am sure we will figure out the new normal and settle into it as we have done with every societal shift in history.

So, as I shared here, this space is a public account of how I am navigating my new normal and dealing with my new priorities, goals, and desires, for my benefit and for my son.

Peace, Love and Light!

xoxo
